Red is not a dirty colour
Red is not a dirty colour is a web awareness campaign about the menstruation taboo. Have you ever noticed that there is no red colour in pad or tampon ads? And that a large number of girls is not comfortable with speaking about menstruation in public? During the 2016 London Marathon, Kiran Gandhi, an Indian student living in London, ran the competition while she was menstruating. She got bloody pants and legs.
This fact had an international echo and I couldn’t understand why it had so much resonance. Then I realized it was because we were openly talking about menstruation. 30% of the world population has a menstrual flow, but there are many people that consider it not suitable to be publically discussed. Red is not a dirty colour aims to make people realize that there is nothing scandalous about menstruation. The campaign is composed of a website, an app, social network profiles and a web social movement to involve the largest possible number of people.
