Niño is a Project of cradle to accommodate children in the condition of homeless and displaced persons, victims of disasters, climate or not, who are in shelters. We know that the conditions of the shelters can not always meet the required standards. This crib, made in resined cardboard, a lightweight, inexpensive and structurally resistant material, conditions for their high replicability, intended to be a palliative solution for disability, ensuring the quality of newborns and toddlers stay, an action that also harms their family.

This cardboard crib can be assembled, disassembled, without tools, in a very quick and easy steps. Its thinness allows Niño, when folded, occupy little volume, making it easier to transport in large quantities. The name plays with the sound of the word “niño”, child in Spanish, phonetically similar as “nest” in portuguese, which built without noble materials, becoming the house which will provide protection and comfort for the baby birds, just like the cradle that although it is made of low cost material, its fullfilled of symbolic qualities from its social engagement and its aesthetics.
