Global Foods Supermarket
Global Foods is a boutique supermarket designed in the Middle East, particularly in the United Arab Emirates. Due to the cross cultural nature of the UAE, the idea of Global Foods was to bring in locally produced products from different countries under one roof.
Global Foods uses sensory experiences as a strategy of way finding in the supermarket. For instance, when the customer first enters the supermarket they see the bakery, smell the pleasant smell of the baked goods and experience the “warm” zone of the supermarket.
As they move through the space, the experience starts getting colder until they reach the coldest zone which houses freezer units. The main stations make up the primary axis of the supermarket and are therefore an essential tool of way finding.
