Frida Kahlo in more than Diego Rivera’s wife, is more than a painter and more than a woman. Frida Kahlo is an inspiration because of her own style and her life.I tried to express how I see her and what she would do nowadays. That’s the reason why I did a collage to show how I see her and also why I decided to create a NGO which helps young artists. In the collage, we can see her, flying above a bird. She has behind her plants, birds, jewellery and flowers.

All that things are quite significant for her, even in her paintings or her own style. She has a crown because I tried to depict her as a Mexican Virgin in an altar. Each bird next to her are connected to the hearts. This hearts means one of her most famous paintings, “The two Fridas”. The idea of the NGO tries to show up the last years of the life of Frida Kahlo, when she was a painting teacher. We think that nowadays, Kahlo would be involved with new artists, helping them to find their own style and to set free their souls.

The NGO “Flying Frida” would create masterclasses, workshops, contests and exhibitions. Also they would have scholarships and a new environment in which young artist can improve their skills and learn not only about art, but about life. The logotype blends a bird, symbol of freedom, and the eyebrows of Kahlo, one of the most significant characteristics of her. Even if her style is not our first influence in design, her lifestyle, her courage and the form how she express her feelings inspires us to follow our dreams.
